The VCUarts Department of Art Education is offering the Creative Arts Day Camp for children rising into grades K-9. Classes are taught by graduate and undergraduate art education students on the VCU campus. Classes are divided by age groups and four classes are offered each session. The camp will provide opportunities for students to explore a variety of media such as digital media, painting, drawing, printmaking, bookmaking, fibers, and more.

Class Size: 20
Per the legal Code of Virginia, all children who attend Creative Arts Day Camp must be at least six years of age by the start of attending camp (e.g. born on or before July 8th, 2018 if attending the first week of camp). Creative Arts Day Camp still offers enrollment for rising grades K-9.
2024 Session Dates
- Session One: July 8th – July 12th
- Session Two: July 15th – July 19th
- Session Three: July 22nd – July 26th
- Session Four: July 29th – Aug 2nd
Lessons will change on a weekly basis. Participants are encouraged to sign up for more than one session.
Camp Days, Time, and Venue
Camp runs from Monday-Thursday from 9AM to 4PM and 9AM to 5PM on Friday for our weekly art show.
Drop-off runs from 8:40 AM to 9:15AM
Pick up 3:50 – 4:20 PM

2024 Tuition Rates (per session)
- Tuition – $275
Applications are processed on a first-come, first-serve basis until sessions are full. We are only able to secure spots in a session once both payment and an enrollment application are received. Enrollment confirmation and payment receipts will be sent by email.
Additional Discounts
A 5% discount will be applied to your total bill if you meet any one of the following criteria:
- VCU employee or student (for children or legal dependents of VCU employees or students only)
- Enroll more than one child at Creative Arts Day Camp
- Enroll your child in multiple camp sessions

Volunteering
Creative Arts Day Camp offers the opportunity for High School students to receive volunteer hours with our program. Students will have the chance to directly assist teachers in the classroom with a variety of tasks. Interested candidates are expected to maintain a level of responsibility and take initiative in their role as they will be working closely with K-9 students. Please apply here.
