After graduation from VCU, Williams packed her bags and headed back to school in Washington, DC to attend Corcoran College of Art and Design. She enrolled in the M.A. Smithsonian-Corcoran History of Decorative Arts program (now the Smithsonian -George Mason History of Decorative Arts program). While there, she began interning at the U.S. Department of State’s office of Art in Embassies. This internship turned into a job where she works in the capacity as a curatorial assistant.

In the spring of 2013, Williams curated a pop-up show for then M.A. of Photojournalism candidate, Clary Estes, entitled Second to None.
