As a Department of Communication Arts, and Illustration Academy alumni, Sterling Hundley has been the recipient of three Gold medals, and two Silver medals from the New York Society of Illustrators; the most prestigious award in the illustration industry. He also received Gold and Silver medals from the Illustrators Club of Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. For the three year period, from 2006-2008, Sterling was the most highly awarded illustrator in the United States, garnering multiple awards from the Society of Illustrators, New York, as well as being the subject of a feature article in Communication Arts Magazine. His work has appeared regularly in the pages of Communication Arts, American Illustration, Print Magazine, the Los Angeles Society of Illustrators, 3 x 3, Graphis, Step by Step Graphics, the Society of Publication Designers, and the New York Society of Illustrators. His has been commissioned by Rolling Stone, USPS, UPS, The Martin Agency, Entertainment Weekly, Virginia Living, GQ, The Grammys, Major League Baseball, Marvel, Bungie, New York TImes, New Yorker, Los Angeles Times, Scholastic, Outside Magazine, and Arena Stage. Sterling is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Arts at VCU, and one of five full time faculty members at the Illustration Academy. He is represented by Richard Solomon Artist Representative in New York, and Art on A Grand Scale, New York. Mr. Hundley is an assistant professor in VCUarts Department of Communication Arts.
