After graduation, Dunn worked as the education assistant at the Valentine Richmond History Center, teaching local elementary students about the history of Richmond and its environs. She then moved to DC where, among other things, she worked in Government Affairs at the Entertainment Software Association, the video game trade industry. She saw a lot, learned a lot, then decided she wanted to move back to Richmond – a lot. After almost three years of working in External Affairs for the VCU School of Business, coordinating events and Board meetings and about a thousand other things, Dunn has been at the VMFA since October.
