Kim Davis moved to NYC in January ’81 and did freelance costume work, starting at Radio City Music Hall for the Rockett’s, then The Public Theater for a while, including ‘Chorus Line’ and mounting “Pirates of Penzance.” At Parson’s Meare’s we created “Cats.” The last things I worked on before leaving the city were Phantom and Les Mis while managing Colbath, Ltd. I had my own business focusing on custom clothing and draperies. I did not restart that each time we moved, only word of mouth. My children sing and act and that got me back into costuming for the last 9 years…no pay this time! I’m now in Chattanooga where there is a huge amount of theater. I designed and made costumes for “Othello,” first time paper to page!
