Elena Tejada-Herrera is a trans-disciplinary artist and university faculty. She creates environments facilitating public creative participation. Elena has participated in more than one hundred exhibitions in Peru, USA, Canada, Russia, Bulgaria, Japan, Australia, Czech Republic, Mexico, Brasil, France, Spain among other countries. She has received several international awards and her work has been featured in more than 16 catalogs and books, including Arte ≠ Vida: Actions by Artists of the Americas 1960–2000 (New York: El Museo Del Barrio, 2008). Elena has an MFA from the Painting, Printmaking and Extended Media Department at VCU, and a second MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in Performance, Video, New Media, and Art&Tech.
