Work and Art History
1974 – 1983, Worked as a carpenter, plasterer and construction worker while putting myself through college.

1983 – 1994, Worked for the Clorox Company in Frederick, Md. as a line worker, a plumber, a mechanic and an electrician until the closing of the plant.

1994 – 1996, Worked at Can-Am Steel in Point of Rocks, Md. As a mechanic and an electrician.

1996, Became a full time artist and a stay at home dad.

1996 – 2009, I joined The Artists’ Gallery in 1996. I have been on the hanging committee ever since and have hung countless shows. For six of these years I was the president of the gallery. I have experience in every aspect of running a gallery: art selection and jurying, hanging and presentation, lighting, openings and sales.

1998, Art presentation and discussion to art students at the Columbia Magnet School for the Fine Arts, Columbia, Md.

2005, Worked for seven weeks with Steven Dobbin’s art class with middle and high school students at the Phillips School for Emotionally Disturbed Children, in Laurel Md.

2006, Art presentation and discussion at Middletown High School, Middletown, Md.

2007, Art presentation and discussion with the Art club at Urbana Elementary Scholl, Urbana, Md.

2009, Taught drawing and painting at Frederick Community College, Frederick, Md.

2009, Taught painting at the Deleplaine Art Center

2010, Taught art summer camps at the Delaplaine Art Center and at the Greater Reston Art Center.

1956, Born in Washington DC. Studied art from a very young age with the help of my mother, a primitive painter and exceptional quilter.

1981, Graduated Cum Laude from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in sculpture
