Ingrid Tremblay is a French Canadian artist originally from Montreal. Her practice looks at the potential of sculpture to create an extension of experience, while generating new experiences. She is interested in the evocative power of objects, materials and sites to recall memories, to create narratives and ultimately, to generate affects. She creates spaces where reality, perception, memory and the imaginary meet and merge. Tremblay obtained her MFA in Sculpture + Extended Media in 2018 from the University of Texas at Austin. She additionally holds a BFA from Montreal’s Concordia University, a B.Sc. and a Master of Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Montreal. She has been awarded several fellowships through The University of Texas at Austin and was a recipient of the Bourse Fonds de Recherche Québec Société et Culture. She has attended residencies including Vermont Studio Center (USA), ACRE (USA), Terra Vivente Art Studio (Italy) and 59 Rivoli (France).
