VCUarts FILM CAMP – Summer 2018

The Department of Photography and Film at VCU is offering Film Camp over a single, two-week session for rising 6th-8th graders. Our student-teacher ratio of 6:1 guarantees hands-on fun across all stages of production– from writing, costumes and staging, through cameras, lights and editing in our state-of-the-art computer lab! Campers will work in small groups using digital cameras provided. The films will be screened for family members and friends on the last day of camp, June 29, 2018.

2018 Film Camp Counselors

Tori Sharpe was born and raised in the River City. As a kid, all she ever wanted to be was an Artist™. In an attempt to narrow down her focus, she attended Virginia Commonwealth University and earned a BFA in Photography and Film with a minor in General Business. When she’s not watching old school Star Trek or jamming out to the Hamilton soundtrack, Sharpe creates video and audio-based work with the simple purpose of telling and documenting captivating stories. Each and every one of us has a unique set of stories and experiences, even if we may think they aren’t.

Teddy Leinbach is an amateur basketball player, fashion icon, failed painter, aspiring ornithologist, and documentary filmmaker.  After graduating from the photo/film department at VCU in 2016, he has spent his time starting his own film company, Airball Films, and desperately trying to beat his roommate in chess.  Through his documentary work, he has had the  opportunity to film at Madison Square Garden, travel to El Salvador, and experience the wonders of Fargo, North Dakota.  He sports a 6 handicap on the golf course and never backs down from a challenge.  He hopes to one day be as good a cook as his mother.
