Yellow Bird Editors is seeking neurodivergent artists to illustrate A is for Actually, Wait…What?, a humorous alphabet book for ADHD and neurodivergent parents. (Think “E is for Eighty-seven tabs open” and “D is for Dissociating in the produce aisle.”) The project will feature a different artist for each of its 26 letter spreads plus the cover, with a special focus on emerging and early-career artists.

Selected artists will receive a $170 stipend per illustration, credit in the book, and a social media feature. Artists retain full copyright, granting only a limited, non-exclusive license. All styles and media are welcome, including digital and traditional work.

Applications are open to anyone age 18 or older who self-identifies as neurodivergent; no documentation is required. This charity project is sponsored by Yellow Bird Editors, and all net proceeds will benefit The Neurodiversity Alliance, a nonprofit supporting students with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and other learning differences.

Application deadline: January 8, 2027
