The Department of Kinetic Imaging is hosting Eyeworks Festival of Experimental Animation, an invitational festival focusing on abstract animation and unconventional character animation. Festival programs showcase outstanding experimental animation of all sorts and include classic films and new works. Eyeworks concentrates on works made by individual artists, drawing on the lineage of avant-garde cinema as well as the tradition of classic character animation and cartooning. The aim of Eyeworks is to present works that engage the enormous potential inherent in the art form of animation. The Eyeworks Festival of Experimental Animation returns to Richmond for the fourth year on Thursday, November 30th at the Grace Street Theater.

Doors will open at 5pm and there will be two short programs: one from 6 – 7:30pm and the second from 8 – 9:30pm. There will be a brief intermission between the two. Tickets are on sale not and can be purchased at the Grace Street Theater Box Office open Monday through Friday noon – 4pm plus an hour before each program or purchase tickets via ShowClix at arts.vcu.edu/GraceStreet
