  • Master of Art Education

    The Master of Art Education degree offers two areas of focus. The first is designed for teachers who are already licensed and who wish to deepen their understanding of Art Education (M.A.E.). The second includes a licensure component and is designed for students who hold a B.A., B.F.A., or related degree and who wish to earn both a master’s degree in art education and a teaching license at the same time (M.A.E. + Licensure).

  • Ph.D. in Education with a concentration in art education

    The art education concentration of the Ph.D. in education program allows students to connect contemporary art and education theories and philosophies, practical and professional experiences, and impact research to develop an area of expertise relevant to the field of art education.

Art History

  • Master of Arts in Art History with a concentration in historical studies

    The M.A. in Art History with a concentration in historical studies provides a foundation in art historical research and writing, as well as a general background in modern and contemporary art from a global perspective. It prepares students for careers in arts and cultural organizations that require an M.A. degree and for further study at the doctoral level.

  • Master of Arts in Art History with a concentration in museum studies

    The M.A. in Art History with a concentration in museum studies provides a foundation in art historical research and writing, a general background in both modern and contemporary art and museum theory and practice from a global perspective. It primarily prepares students for careers in arts and cultural organizations that require an MA degree, such as collections management, registration, education, development and some curatorial positions.

Craft/Material Studies

  • Master of Fine Arts in Fine Arts with a concentration in ceramics

    Students have access to a wide range of equipment that allows for creative exploration in many forms, media, and scale.

  • Master of Fine Arts in Fine Arts with a concentration in fibers

    You may work in an interdisciplinary manner or focus entirely on fiber. This is primarily a self-directed program where you decide your direction of study.

  • Master of Fine Arts in Fine Arts with a concentration in furniture design

    The Master of Fine Arts in Fine Arts with a concentration in furniture design program entails two years of intensive studio work. Graduate students are expected to demonstrate a serious dedication to their work and to the development of mature ideas and forms of expression.

  • Master of Fine Arts in Fine Arts with a concentration in glassworking

    The Master of Fine Arts in Fine Arts with a concentration in glassworking program demands a minimum of two years of intensive studio work. You are expected to demonstrate a serious dedication to your studio practice through steadfast perseverance, and a constant maintenance of your individual focus. Students are expected to identify aspects of the material that led them to intellectually and emotionally fearless art making.

  • Master of Fine Arts in Fine Arts with a concentration in jewelry/metalworking

    The Master of Fine Arts in Fine Arts with a concentration in jewelry/metalworking program entails two years of intensive studio work. You are expected to demonstrate a serious dedication to your work and research, as well as innovative forms of expression.

Graphic Design

  • Master of Fine Arts in Design with a concentration in visual communications

    The program develops the philosophy and personal direction of each student and focuses your resources on functional and expressive visual communications. You will concentrate on the philosophical, communicative, and aesthetic relationships of visual problem-solving and interacting skills leading to the effective articulation of concepts.

Interior Design

  • Master of Fine Arts in Design with a concentration in interior environments: post-professional option

    The program addresses the interdisciplinary exploration of issues in interior design at an advanced level, with scholarly activity directed toward the acquisition and dissemination of knowledge and the development of innovative design solutions.

  • Master of Fine Arts in Design with a concentration in interior environments: professional entry-level option

    The Master of Fine Arts in Design with a concentration in interior environments: professional entry-level option is for second-degree seekers who have a proven record of academic excellence and are interested in pursuing a career in interior design.

Kinetic Imaging

  • Master of Fine Arts in Fine Arts with a concentration in kinetic imaging

    The M.F.A. in Fine Arts with a concentration in Kinetic Imaging expands the fields of video art, animated arts, sound art, emerging media, installation, interactivity, coding and mediated performance through the production of work that explores the artist’s relationship to culture and society.

Painting + Printmaking

  • Master of Fine Arts in Fine Arts with a concentration in painting and printmaking

    The Master of Fine Arts in Fine Arts with a concentration in painting and printmaking fosters intensive studio practice in the areas of painting, drawing, printmaking, and a range of interdisciplinary practices. The graduate program is ranked #2 in Printmaking and #12 in Painting/Drawing by U.S. News & World Report.

Photography + Film

  • Master of Fine Arts in Fine Arts with a concentration in photography and film

    Students in the MFA program will work in photography, in film, or in a combination of both and are free to investigate other fine arts disciplines. This includes narrative, documentary, experimental, and abstract work. Seminars and frequent critiques focus on artistic innovation and critical thought.

Sculpture + Extended Media

    Led by an active and accomplished group of working artists, the M.F.A. program in Sculpture + Extended Media promotes a fluid, liberated, experimental and progressive exploration of the transformative role of art.

Theatre

    The Master of Fine Arts in Theatre with a concentration in pedagogy/performance is tailored to early- to mid-career theatre professionals who wish to teach at the university or college level.
