Register for the webinar Note: All spring faculty lectures will be a virtual webinar format Visual effects in movies and television are difficult for filmmakers to master. What filmmakers see through the camera on set and what will be added digitally later on can be hard to visualize. Virtual production techniques allow filmmakers to capture complex visual effects shots in-camera using real-time game engine technology and surrounding LED screens. Drawing from Matt Wallin’s decades of experience as a visual effects artist on blockbuster films from
King Kong to
Star Wars, this lecture explores the concepts of virtual production, its implementation, and demonstrates some basic tools students and filmmakers can use today.
