The RVA CLAY Tour 2024 is happening THIS weekend!
Take a self-guided tour of Richmond’s diverse and spectacular clay community. On June 1st and 2nd, clay studios throughout Richmond and the surrounding area will open to the public, with nearly 50 clay artisans showing off their work and studio space. Plan out your route and spend the weekend visiting your favorite artists.
Studio #21 on the tour is VCU Craft & Materials Studies in the Depillars Building 2nd floor, 1000 W. Broad Street. Studios will be open on Saturday, June 1st from 10 am – 5 pm and on Sunday, June 2nd, 2024 from 12 pm – 5 pm.
As part of the RVA Clay Tour, the clay area will offer studio tours and demonstrations of a variety of ceramic techniques from current students. We will also have work for sale from current undergraduate and graduate students and faculty.

June 1st
- 11:00 AM Ollie Hoffmaster, Altering slab-built mugs and sgraffito surface design
- 1:00 PM Sol Scott, Coil Building
- 2:00 PM Zen Lamb, Wheel Throwing a lidded Jar and Pitcher
- 3:00 PM Anneke McDonald, Throwing off the hump
- 4:00 PM Amy Duval, Slip Casting
June 2nd
- 1:00 PM Brooklin, Handbuilt Flower Box
- 2:00 PM Casey Mitchell, Wheel Throwing
- 3:00 PM Cole Albright, Slab building with slip trailing surface design
- 4:00 PM Emma David, Building miniature ceramic chairs
