Ian Donegan – Anima Collector
March 2 – 13
The Anderson is pleased to present Anima Collector, an exhibition by BFA Kinetic Imaging undergraduate Ian Donegan as part of its Open Call exhibition proposal initiative.
Exhibition Statement
Anima Collector is an exploration of Virginia’s natural landscape, and the apparent contradictions present in how we view nature as resource, as tourism, as beauty, and as home. The work materializes as maps of experience, created by collecting ephemera from around Virginia and organizing it intuitively. Found materials include plant matter, wood from alleys and construction sites, tree bark, images from Virginia Wildlife Magazine, and animal remains.
Gallery Hours Tuesday–Friday 12–6pm, Saturday 12–5pm
