The Anderson is accepting proposals for exhibitions of artwork by VCUarts students taking place between January 12 – March 6, 2025 with exact dates to be confirmed after acceptance.
Who Can Apply
- VCUarts students who are enrolled in the Spring 2026 semester, looking to install a solo or group show of VCUarts students.
- VCUarts student affinity groups looking to propose juried exhibitions of VCUarts students.
- VCUarts faculty seeking to exhibit work related to a specific course or departmental initiative.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:
Participating students and faculty are expected to be available for in-person exhibition planning meetings at The Anderson leading up to their exhibition. Each show must have a VCUarts faculty mentor supporting the exhibition through exhibition planning, installation support, and general mentorship. Participating students are responsible for installation and deinstallation of artwork. Please note that the Anderson is not equipped with an elevator.

10/3 – Submission period opens
10/20 – Submission period closes
10/28 – Selected artists/organizers notified
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
A successful proposal for solo or group exhibitions will include detailed descriptions of the art objects and layout proposed for the exhibition with consideration given to the particulars of the proposed gallery space and any special installation needs. The proposals will be graded on overall excellence in creative scholarship, community impact, clarity of the proposal, and the overall feasibility of exhibiting within the time and space constraints.
