Wes Hester

Wes Hester is the Executive Director of Communications at Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of the Art where he oversees the top-ranked art and design school’s central communications team. Before coming to VCUarts in 2023, he served as Director of Media Relations at the University of Virginia and Associate Director of Issues Management at Vanderbilt University. A former journalist, Hester was a staff writer and editor at the Richmond Times-Dispatch and Editor of The Daily Progress in Charlottesville, Virginia. He is an alumnus of the College of William & Mary.
