Carlos Chafin

Carlos Chafin is an Affiliate Faculty member at VCU, where he teaches digital recording classes within undergraduate curriculum as well as within the Advanced Media Production Technology post-baccalaureate certificate program. Named as “Ad Person of the Year” by the Richmond Ad Club, Chafin is a former VCU student and the longtime co-owner of In Your Ear studio in Shockoe Bottom, where he composes and otherwise creates sound and music for movies and television. He has worked for such ad campaigns as Miller Lite, Purina, Holiday Inn, Colgate, Sprint, Seiko, Saab, Wrangler, and more. Chafin and his staff teach the course on-site at In Your Ear Studios, providing our students the experience of a multi-million dollar recording studio.
