Alex Matzke is adjunct faculty in the Sculpture + Extended Media Department.
b. 1985 in Nebraska, on stolen Omaha land, Alex (white settler) is an artist, educator, photographer and welder. Professor Matzke lives “off grid” in the mountains of Borikén (colonially known as Puerto Rico) where she and her spouse practice a form of natural farming. She holds a BA (Digital Media in Art Therapy) from The College of Santa Fe, an MFA (Photography & Film) from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a professional welding certification (GTAW—Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) from Metropolitan Community College.
