Mattie is currently a senior in Comm Arts. She has a science background, and chose Comm Arts when she realized the communication, narrative, and storytelling side of art. The Comm Arts Department has been instrumental in providing Mattie with access to faculty who excel in everything. She’s able to “pick their brains for advice and inspiration, and it’s an awesome community.” After graduation she plans to write a graphic novel, and exploring ways to communicate ideas to bring people together. Her words of wisdom are to “draw every day, and don’t be a perfectionist – it’s the doing that counts.”
