Stephen Vitiello Releases New Album with 12k Label

Categories

Department chair Stephen Vitiello recently released a new album made in collaboration with Michael Grigoni on experimental music label, 12k. On Slow Machines Grigoni provides the guitars and Vitiello the electronics and processing with a goal of combining each of their artistic languages into a new form. Vitiello utilized both field recordings as well as recordings of the clicking and rattling from the kinetic sculptures of Arthur Ganson. These sculptural sounds were the inspiration behind the album title as the metal forms “whirl and whir in repetitive motions like slow machines.”

Slow Machines is available now for purchase or download.
