Sam Beam of Iron & Wine returns to NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series

Sam Beam (BFA ’96), better known as Iron & Wine, has performed on the NPR Music series Tiny Desk Concerts several times, and his recent set at the Washington, D.C., studio is just as spirited as his first. Labeled a “Tiny Desk veteran,” Beam is an accomplished recording artist whose most recent solo album peaked at number 6 on Billboard‘s top rock album chart in the US. He was joined at the intimate live concert by Arizona band Calexico, who he collaborated with for this year’s joint record Years to Burn.

Beam graduated from the Communications Arts & Design program, and reportedly paints and illustrates his own lush album covers.
