Sandy Williams IV is an interdisciplinary artist from Virginia Beach, and a 2019 graduate of VCU’s Sculpture + Extended Media MFA Program. He has recently exhibited at The Second Street Gallery in Charlottesville, The Pensacola Museum of Art, and The Virginia Museum Of Contemporary Art. His work often deals with history, race, and the time it takes to do something––for a bullet to travel, for a candle to burn, for a body to become exhausted. In response to Rashid Johnson’s “Monument” installation, he (along with a number of collaborators) will present a performance combining song, text, fashion, and video.
