Professor Kate Sicchio featured in New York Times article

Congratulations to assistant professor, Kate Sicchio, on her recent mention in a New York Times article. The article, titled Dances With Robots, and Other Tales from the Outer Limits, discusses the future of A.I. in dance and choreography. Much of the article discusses how media technologies could aid performances during the pandemic. The mention of her research focuses on her “live coding jams,” which are produced by a machine and the dancers respond to the choreography projected. Sicchio notes that this technology works well in the context of the pandemic, but of course, she prefers to view dance in person.
