About the Artist:

Currently a second year student in VCUarts Sculpture + Extended Media Graduate program, Petra draws from contemporary parapsychology, Jungian active imagination, comparative religious studies, Tibetan Tantric traditions, Diasporan ritual traditions, and contemporary UFO scholarship to center non-empirical forms of knowledge and encourage new notions of communion. Using play, carnivalesque aesthetics, and immersive environments, she offers winding paths through hyperthick fantasy realms with detours that promise strange views, sensory overload, and experiences of humility, catharsis, amusement, and connection.
