Mike Belzer started animating when he was 13 years old. He got his start with stop-motion animation and went on to work with such icons as Gumby and the Pillsbury Doughboy, as well as doing experimental animation at Colossal Pictures in San Francisco. Soon he was working with Tim Burton and Henry Selick as a lead animator for the films “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and “James and the Giant Peach.” He then ventured into computer animation starting with Pixar and also worked for Walt Disney Feature Animation and Warner Bros. He is now animating for the Seattle-based company Valve, where he had the unique opportunity to be involved with the Virtual Reality game “The Lab” at the same time Valve developed the VR headset, The Vive.
