Hillary Waters Fayle, an assistant professor of fiber in the Department of Craft/Material Studies, was recently interviewed by Garden & Gun magazine –  a national publication that discusses Southern culture. Fayle’s work has been widely exhibited and is in several permanent exhibitions. She has taught workshops at Penland School of Craft (NC), the Mediterranean Art & Design Program (Italy) and Yasar University (Turkey). Her work was recently on view at Greenhill Center for Art in Greensboro (NC); Quirk Gallery (VA); the Lamont Gallery in Exeter (NH); and the Czurles-Nelson Gallery (NY). Fayle’s work is also in the permanent collections of the Burchfield Penney Art Center, Capital One, Dominion and the Kalmthout Arboretum & Botanical Gardens in Belgium. In addition, her work will soon be installed at the US Embassy in Sri Lanka. Her public installation in collaboration with the AKG Museum can be seen year-round in Buffalo, New York. Fayle earned her MFA in fibers from VCUarts, and her BFA in fiber design from the State University College at Buffalo.
