Lowe Fehn – Roots of Some Tree

March 2 – 13

The Anderson is pleased to present Roots of Some Tree, an exhibition by BFA Painting and Printmaking undergraduate Lowe Fehn as part of its Open Call exhibition proposal initiative.

Exhibition Statement

Roots of Some Tree is an ongoing project of excavating the self out of an embedded place that is pinned by things like familial upbringing, looming systemic structures, and regulated norms. The action of recognizing and translating patterns of control, safety, defense, and sacrifice into iconography upends and dissects a person’s position in relation to their surroundings as a practice of gardening. This scheme of intervention pulls apart tangled roots, inspects ambiguity, and tends to what is being grown.
