KI Professor and Research Assistant to Present at Live Coding Conference in Ireland

Categories

Professor Kate Sicchio will be joined by her research assistant, KI senior Z Wang, at the University of Limerick in Ireland where they will be presenting their collaborative project “Terpiscode” to the International Conference on Live Coding. “Terpiscode”, as defined by the corresponding paper on the project written by the team, “is a developing mini programming language for live coding dance performance scores”. The system strives to create a language of choreographic patterns for transcribing dance in a way more compatible with computers and coding. This will help to facilitate integration of computers and algorithmic processes into choreographic practices.

The two will present “Terpisocode” at the conference on February 6th, accompanied by UK dancer, Phoebe Brown.
