VCUarts and The Anderson are pleased to present Black Fidelity, a showcase of art and performances from Black Art Student Empowerment (BASE), Creative Production Collective (CPC), and BLKinFashion for Black History Month.

Exhibition Statement

Unfolding in an exhibition and series of events from February 1st to 26th on the top floors of The Anderson, Black Fidelity is a project from VCU Black student organizations that features artworks underscoring themes of Afrorealism and Afrofuturism. The Black Fidelity mission is dedicated to reclaiming agency over the story told by white power, reforming public perceptions of difference, and representing the past and future realities of Black identity through different art mediums. This includes but is not limited to photography, graphic design, film, visual art, performing arts, and more.

Reception: February 1, 7-9pm

Speakeasy Event: February 8, 6:30-8:30pm

  • An alcohol-free, speakeasy-inspired event.

Closing Event: February 25, 5-7pm

  • An open forum for creativity, this event will include a fashion show, dancers, spoken word, live music, a screening, and more! Event details coming soon.
