2019-2020 Season Announced!

Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Dance + Choreography announces its 2019-2020 performance season including concerts, film screenings, 2020-2021 audition dates and visiting artists including Paloma McGregor in a Research Residency, Dean Moss in a Teaching Residency in partnership with Kinetic Imaging; and Christopher K. Morgan in a Choreographic Residency.

Fall 2019 highlights include Paloma McGregor twice sharing the results of research for the Urban Bush Women Fellowship Program on August 29th and October 4th as well as performances of student work at both the Salon on October 29th and the Fall Senior Project Concert on November 22nd and 23rd.

In Spring 2020, VCU Dance NOW will feature exciting new works by VCU Dance faculty and award-winning guest artist Christopher K. Morgan. Student film work will be presented in the January 24th Rough Cut: Student Film Screening, and the season will conclude with the Spring Senior Project Concert in April.

Paloma McGregor In Process I

Paloma McGregor, a Caribbean-born, New York-based choreographer whose work centers Black voices through collaborative, process-based art-making and organizing, shares work in process during a research residency hosted by VCU as part of the Urban Bush Women Fellowship Program, a component of the UBW Choreographic Center, seeking to bring greater national recognition and support to women choreographers of the African Diaspora.
