This week, our own Professor Kirk Kjeldsen is attending the CILECT conference in Zürich, Switzerland.
Established in Cannes in 1955, CILECT is the association of the world’s premiere film and motion picture institutions.
VCUarts Cinema is one out of 20 film schools that have been approved for membership in North America.
The primary goal of this organization is for member schools to come together to exchange new ideas and strategies. This collaboration seeks to provide the best possible film education to our collective students.
This year’s conference topic is “Transmedia and Interdisciplinary Strategies in a Rapidly Changing Industry”. Some noteworthy speakers include Markus Gross, VP of Global Research and Development of The Walt Disney company and director of Disney Research Zurich, Frank Rose, author of “The Art of Immersion” and Pia Tikka, writer/director, head of Cinema Lab, and principal investigator of the NeuroCine research project, among many others.
We are looking forward to picking Professor Kjeldsen’s brain after the conference is over!
