Graphic Design's Objects + Methods Lecture Series is hosting a lecture by Christian Schwartz of Commercial Type. Schwartz is an American type designer and is currently on his North American tour with Commercial Type. He has been awarded the German Design Award and the Prix Charles Peignot for Excellence in Type Design. Sedrick Chisom is a painter and writer. Through his paintings, he references the racialized idioms of Victorian fantasy illustration and uses the Romantic landscape as a site where the apocalyptic narratives of white supremacy, Christianity, and climate change intersect — a scenario in which most of the built environment has been obliterated and transformed into a toxic, hallucinatory wasteland.
