Bowe Street Parking Deck, Rm. 535 Aissa Deebi is a Palestinian American Artist based in Geneva, Switzerland. His early work investigates the complexity of daily practices in post-1948 Palestine: Days like this (1997): Makkan (1998); My Dream House (1999); Nothing is New Only Forgotten (2000). Later, Deebi’s work tackles the theme of immigration and alienation, which culminates into his Ph.D. research, providing critical analysis of Diaspora as a creative space. Join us for a Visiting Artist lecture with Los Angeles-based artist Diedrick Brackens. Brackens' weavings incorporate techniques drawn from European tapestries, West African weavings, and Southern quilts. His work has been included in numerous exhibition venues including  Johansson Projects in Oakland, CA, Conduit Gallery in Dallas, TX, Berkeley Art Museum, and the University of Michigan. Adam Manley: Visiting Artist

Join us for a Visiting Artist lecture with Adam Manley. Manley, the son of a carpenter/boat builder and weaver makes work that explores the relationship between people, places, and objects. His work has been included in exhibitions at the Hunterdon Art Museum, the Indianapolis Art Center, and The Oceanside Museum. Manley is an Assistant Professor of Furniture Design and Woodworking at San Diego State University.
