Sun You – Grow Into a Field

Sun You is a Seoul born, NewYork-based artist whose recent work, using traditional craft materials associated with domestic production, playfully combines the language of Sculpture and Painting. Exhibition on view from September 1st-October 26th with a reception held on September 21st.

Caitlin Cherry: Gallery Talk

Caitlin Cherry will talk about her exhibition Etherpaint at The Anderson (Sept 7-Oct 26). "Etherpaint" features figurative paintings that explore the solarization and inversion effect of Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) monitor technology that occurs with a malfunctioning or tilted screen. Cartoonist Ron Rege Jr, known for his treatment of metaphysical and philosophical subjects will be showing site-specific drawing, original artwork from publications, and paintings operating within the language of zines and independent comics. The exhibition will be on display from October 12th- December 14th.

Qatar Day

Qatar Day is an annual event to strengthen the relationship between the VCU Richmond and Qatar campuses. The event features art and design projects from our Doha students. Richmond students, faculty and staff can also learn more about Qatari and Arab culture through showcases of henna, Arabic calligraphy and traditional Qatari clothing. This event is organized by the Student Government Association (SGA).
