Objects & Methods: Tammy Nguyen

Tammy Nguyen is a multimedia artist whose work spans painting, drawing, silkscreen and book making. Intersecting geopolitical realities with fiction, her practice addresses lesser-known histories through a blend of myth and visual narrative. She is the founder of Passenger Pigeon Press, an independent press that joins the work of scientists, journalists, creative writers, and artists to create politically nuanced and cross-disciplinary projects. This month, in coordination with our Objects & Methods lecture series and The Anderson Gallery, she will be bringing her exhibition “The Ship Named Atlast” to Richmond. The show will feature paintings and sculptures that tell the story of refugee migration and trade in the South China seas. As part of this exhibition, she will be giving a lecture on her work at The Grace Theater on October 14th.
