The Horse in Ancient Greek Art

Free
Black ancient Greek vase with painted image of horse and rider and small animal.

From February to July, visit the new Virginia Museum of Fine Arts show “The Horse in Ancient Greek Art” and take part in a unique collaboration between the museum and Kinetic Imaging.

A group of students from Pam Turner’s KI class developed videos and interactive animations that bring the exhibition’s ancient equine imagery to life. In exploring Greek mythology, students developed a horse-themed video and a 360-degree animation that places the viewer inside an ancient Greek symposium. Animation are always on-view in the gallery via touch screen displays or online.

Visit the VMFA on March 29 for a follow-up event.
