Game Jam 2019

RVA Game Jams and VCUarts Kinetic Imaging Present Global Game Jam with special guest Halfcoordinated.

Join us for an international 48 hour rapid video game development challenge based on a secret theme that we will announce at the beginning of the event.  The free kickoff and public keynote address by Clint “Halfcoordinated” Lexa will be held at Champion Brewing Company at 401 E. Grace St. in the evening on Friday, January 25. The keynote will be followed by a Q&A with the speaker, team building and an info session by Richmond Game Jam and Global Game Jam organizers.  Work days will continue on Saturday, January 26 from 9am–midnight  and Sunday, January 27 from 9am–11pm at 804RVA at 1657 W. Broad St. On the evening of Sunday January 27, we will host a pizza party and showcase where teams can share, test and critique their work.

Clint “Halfcoordinated” Lexa is a video game speedrunner, streamer, and advocate for gamers with disabilities. Diagnosed with hemiparesis, a condition that affects the motor functions of one half of the body, Halfcoordinated speedruns games with one hand, holding the top times for games such as Semblance, Transformers: Devastation, and more. He also helps advocate for and consult on accessibility features in games, helping to playtest games currently in development to offer suggestions to make them more available to players with disabilities.
