From Sketchbook to Controller: The Art, Design and Development of Video Games

Session II

The expanding universe of video game production intersects art, design, and engineering disciplines, spawning new ways of seeing, imagining, competing, and learning. New industries — and jobs — are being created through collaborations between artists and engineers, changing our very perceptions in exciting new ways. Learn professional methods for taking a good idea and turning it into a compelling video game design. Whether a character, creature, robot, or spacecraft, concepts need to be moved from the mind’s eye into a visual form (sketch, drawing, illustration) that can be shared. This is what concept design is all about and you can learn the principles, practices, and foundational skills used out in the field in this exciting new course.
