2021-2022 Performance Season
The Dance season for 2021-2022 is supported in large part by a generous grant from the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation. Season events will include virtual screenings and discussions, site-based performance, and a creative residency series for individual artists from the Richmond community at the Grace Street Theater.

The Senior Project concert serves as a capstone experience in both performance and choreography for graduating Dance majors. Fall 2021 will feature performances in both The Anderson gallery spaces and on the Grace Street Theater stage.

Dean Moss: johnbrown

Steeped in a childhood of grassroots organizing and pitched campaigns, multidisciplinary artist Dean Moss draws from an intimate and varied history with activism to create johnbrown—a dark, wry meditation on the legacy of the white 19th-century abolitionist, as well as the racial, gender, and generational processes at play in the inquiry. The result of three years of research, johnbrown layers live choreography and text with video performances of an original script by Thomas Bradshaw and a score by Stephen Vitiello.
