The Theresa Pollak Prize honorees demonstrate how their personal process of art making has enriched the region’s culture while representing Richmond in the wider world. The award is given annually by Richmond Magazine. Thus, we recognize the contributions of these recipients with VCUarts ties.
Congratulations to VCU Dance alumna, Ana Inés King for her choreography in The Latin Ballet of Virginia. To Samson Trinh, VCU Music alumnus and manager of the Upper East Side Big Band for his efforts in ensemble. For the Instrumentalist award, Rex Richardson, VCU Music associate professor of trumpet. Todd Raviotta, VCU Film alumnus, for the Film award, best known for his narrative work. To Susan Iverson, Craft/Material Studies textile professor for the Applied Arts award. And to Michael Lease, Photography alumnus and Anderson Gallery exhibition manager, for the Photography award.
