Charlotte Cotton is a curator and writer. She has held curatorial positions at internationally leading institutions including Curator of Photographs at the Victoria and Albert Museum and Head of Programming at The Photographers’ Gallery in London and Head Curator of the Wallis Annenberg Department of Photographs at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. She is the author of the best selling photography text book ‘The Photograph as Contemporary Art’ which is printed in ten languages and has sold over 110,000 copies. She has been a Visiting Professor, Critic and External Examiner at universities including Yale University, New Haven; Royal College of Art, London; School of Visual Arts and Parsons The New School, New York; ZHDK, Zurich; UPenn, Philadelphia. She is currently a Visiting Scholar at California College of the Arts, San Francisco.
