Dixon Johnston studied sculpture, photography & film. After an entry level position at a TV station, the next step was as news photographer/editor/producer. There he witnessed history in the 1st person & expanded his storytelling toolset. He covered, among other things, 9-11 at the Pentagon, the I-95 Sniper Shootings, the Hanging Chad Flap, many major storms and profiles on Central Va’s most influential people. News work earned him numerous AP awards, Va Broadcaster Awards & an Emmy. Ready to take some risks, he co-founded Ground Zero Media, a successful boutique video company specializing in extreme sports. Starting a family slowed him back down, he now works as Creative Services Director at WRIC, leading the brand, marketing & production.
