Open Call Due 11/10: Umbra At VALET
Published on October 27, 2017
Ghosts are real, and they are everywhere. They are artificial, natural, and something in between all at once. Ghosts are immune to time, existing in the past, present, and future. Deposits of energy that we are able to catch glimpses of in ourselves and environment. How are ghosts created? Are they energy left by someone or something, or are they energy that is actively made? Who, or what, has the power to create ghosts?
Umbra refers to a shadow, and it was commonly used to describe a spirit in 16th century. These definitions and the questions we are asking offer the opportunity to expand the meaning of “ghost.” We are looking for works of any media that explores these ideas.
Umbra will be open on November 16th at VALET. We are accepting submissions until November 10th. All submissions should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
