PAID Design Internship for a Nonprofit in DC!

Published on March 9, 2016

If you’re going to be in the DC area over the summer, I strongly encourage you to apply for this internship.  Summer is a perfect time to get hands on experience, and the bonus is that this is actually PAID.  We all have bills…right?

My name is Audrey Pfund and I’m the Associate Design Manager at a DC nonprofit, the Partnership for Public Service. We have a paid summer internship position open and would love to have applicants from VCU. Would you be able to help me get out the word about our PAID internship?

POSITION OVERVIEW

The graphic design fellow will be responsible for supporting the Partnership’s print and digital projects. She or he will help develop and design the Partnership’s marketing materials, both digital and print, such brochures, PowerPoints, and email and web campaign images. This person will also assist with report and infographic design, as well as web content.

This internship requires someone who is detail-oriented and tech-savvy with a background in graphic design. A strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Adobe Creative Suite, as well as some knowledge of HTML/CSS is required. This person should have a strong visual eye, and be able to transform sometimes long, complicated ideas into compelling, high-impact, effective communications.

The graphic design fellow will work as part of an interdisciplinary team of marketing, editorial, media, and events staff, and as a result should be able to collaborate with others and contribute ideas. This person will also work directly with program teams to help develop their marketing materials.
