You Can’t Have Solutions Without Problems

You know, even though you represent 16 different departments and programs, you actually have a lot in common. It crossed my mind yesterday, when I walked past this bike, that you’re all problem solvers. In a major way. You solve problems such as how to move an idea from your mind to the world, how to communicate a feeling or character, evoke an emotion. These are problems that have more than one solution, and require you to chart the path to resolution as you see fit. It’s pretty amazing.
And then, after seeing this shoe turned water bottle (coffee?) holder, it became clear. The beauty of all of this is that you can’t have solutions without problems. So, in that frame, problems are good things because they push us. Just saying.
