Sandy Williams IV is a multi-disciplinary artist from Virginia Beach,VA. He graduated from the University of Virginia’s art department. Currently, his work relates to a search for identity by means of sculpture, film and body art. He often finds focus in limitations and boundaries, futility and the idea of exhaustion; exploring maleness, blackness, personality and privilege, in ways that the artist considers constructive in a very material sense. Williams draws inspiration from contemporary social and political movements, and the idea of “self-ownership”.
