Raul De Lara is a storyteller. Born and raised in Mexico, at the age of 13, his family immigrated to the USA where he still resides as a “Dreamer”. Post his BMX athlete life, He now holds a High Honors BFA from The University of Texas at Austin – 2015. After Texas, he moved to Chicago where he held a position as artist assistant for Nick Cave, and Co-founded the Chicago artists commune Fat City Arts. His practice is rooted in the handmade, the mute gaze, and the in-betweenness of functions.
