Leigh Cole is an interdisciplinary artist whose most recent work explores the intersection between science, fiction, and culture. A tinkerer at heart, she rarely utilizes the same material twice, and loves to experiment with new processes. She was raised in Virginia, and completed two BFAs in 2007 at Virginia Commonwealth University, in Painting and Printmaking and Sculpture + Extended Media. She earned her MFA in Visual Arts from the University of California, San Diego in 2011. She attended the Takt Kunstprojektraum Residency in Berlin, and her work has been included in group and solo shows in Virginia and Southern California. In December of 2017 she will join the Clipperton Project on a sailing expedition to Antarctica to study lunar phases.
