The general rule that VCU and most universities follow is that Financial Aid is based on need, whereas scholarship funding is based on student achievement.
VCU Music has many scholarship opportunities. Some of our students are Presidential Scholars, Provost Scholars, and Dean’s Scholars, the highest awards in the university. Information about those awards and others like them can be found here.
Many of our students hold awards given by our nationally ranked School of the Arts and by the Music Department itself, such as our Friends of VCU Music Award or the Helga Attems Classical Music Award. A complete list of School and Departmental awards can be found here.
Information on need-based financial aid is available from the VCU Office of Financial Aid.
